Schuco Studio 1050 clockwork repair

The winding axel of the prewar Schuco Studios are often broken, and no spare parts are availble for the early version with the winding on the left side of the car.
To the left, prewar version of the repaired Schuco studio.
The orginal axel are made of a material that goes into pieces when it's getting old as this clockwork is at least 75 years old.
Clockwork disasembled with a axel from a never Studio in front.
This axel doesn't fit right away because of the clockworks are going in opposite direction due to the winding on the left side on the prewar versions.
To get the clockwork running backwards, make a cut in this part of the new axel to make the spring connect to the axel
Fit the spring and the rear axel into the clockwork.
Note that the axel is now sticking out on the left side of the clockwork.
Clockwork assembled in the car from the 30's and are running again.
